  1. I’ve posted a couple of messages on the KICC Watch pages of this website and I’ve been investigating way to oppose KICC’s planning application on grounds of community cohesion and potential for discrimination against LGBT people. The Mayor of London’s ‘Planning for Equality and Diversity in London’ guidelines may help: http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor/strategies/sds/spg-planning-for-diversity.jsp
It identifies LGBT people as ‘an equality target group’ and Section 4.10 on LGBT people recommends that ‘consideration should be given to how social and recreational facilities can be provided’. From the feedback on this site and from evidence elsewhere, an independent cinema could offer LGBT people a welcoming and non-discriminatory social and recreational environment, unlike a church which actively discriminates against us.
