I would love to see the venue converted to a cinema and have protested to Bromley council. Does anyone know what is happening with grey building a little further on (on the same side of the road, covered in graffiti?) i looks as if a construction company are going to do something but its been like that for a while now … thanks Tom

  2. Crystal Palace is a diverse and thriving community. It was renouned for bring gems from around the world to be viewed by an eager and enthusiastic audience – that should be the case again. Bring back the cinema and hopefully we can continue to enrich this part of London, socially, artistically and intellectually. It would be the perfect antidote to the current economic climate.

  3. Seriously – how many people/businesses would benefit from another religious building on The Triangle as opposed to how many would benefit if there was a cinema? The council NEED to consider this. The area needs a much needed boost and this cinema would be it. Makes perfect sense.

  4. Bring on the cinema and boost the south London arts scene! A local cinema showing a range of films would be brilliant for the area.

Give Crystal Palace a cinema! You know it makes sense!

People of faith carry God around them with them in their hearts. He is also present in the trees, the air and the very fabric of reality. God will therefore still be present at 25 Church Road, no matter what it is converted into. However, I would contend that since Christians have God with them in their hearts and souls 24/7, they might spare a charitable thought for those Godless folk who have failed to commune with Jesus . Clearly they will all go to Hell when they die, so allowing them the fleeting pleasures of a cinema while they eke out this mortal existence is not too much to ask, is it? I think Christians should therefore show the same compassion that Jesus would have shown had he been living today in Crystal Palace.

Is there really a space for another Church in Crystal Palace? is Faith in the area that strong?
How many Crystal Palace and surrounding area residents will use this Church. And where will they all park?
The cinema sounds like a great idea! Count me in on this petition.

A cinema would be fantastic for Crystal Palace. It would serve the local community far better than an Evangelical Church. It is really poor that Gala sold it to them despite having an offer from another picture house. Shame on them for not doing the right thing! Let’s hope we can keep up the pressure and get a cinema. It would boost the area significantly.

Let’s get the Palace on the map. No to church . Yes, double please, to the cinema.

I moved 7 years ago from Streatham mainly because of the late night noise from two churches! “Jesus loves you” To the early hours of the morning. No respect to locals…..God help us!

So lets make sure we make this building go back to what it was originally designed for.

I work in the film industry and we need as many small cinemas as we can.

    Vote cinema.

Crystal Palace is on the up and a cinema would further add to the community and the town’s social regeneration and economic prosperity.

In country a which is becoming more secular by the day why do we need another church in an area that already has 5?! Especially one that has a congregation that doesn’t even come from the Area!

Council’s are so strict on change of use of properties normally. Bromley CC, please don’t be lured by the Church’s big bucks, make a decision which will benefit the whole community
